A motif is a full design pre-assembled on carrier tape, so the whole thing sets in one press instead of stone by stone. That is what makes it worth doing for anything repeated — team and squad wear, studio uniforms, a costume built more than once. It also holds a design consistent, where hand placement drifts between pieces. For a single one-off garment, hand setting is usually the more sensible route.

Send artwork with a clear idea of finished size and stone colours — a design that reads at SS10 on a chest logo is a different drawing at SS30 across a back. For names and numbers alone, stock iron-on letters already cover it.
